Last week I announced a contest to come up with equations that conveyed truths about life and business. The contest prize is a 40 minute free coaching session with me. Seven readers contributed 21 equations. The drawing has just been completed, witnessed and verified, and I am ready to announce the winner. But first, here are all the equations in one place, for your ready reference. Which of these speak to you?
Cherie Rubenstein (my mother, so these MUST be true!):
- Clean ears + open mind = understanding.
- Whimsy + free thinking = creative fun.
- Love of life + compassion = love of others (received and given).
- Self-forgiveness + consistent commitment to improvements on a well-planned path = increased self-confidence and productivity.
- A sense of humor + patience = increased tolerance.
- visualization + prioritization + organization = balanced, successful life
- Perseverance + Believe = Success
- Sincerity + free Advice = Trust
- Desire to Help + Patience = Customer!
- Service + Interaction = Relationships
- Relationships + Delivering on Promises = Trust
- Trust + Relationship = 'Ambassador' Customers
- Task + Process + Meaning = Engagement
- Introspection + Motivation = Refinement
- Knowledge - Action = Nothing
- Knowledge + Action = Achievement
- Knowledge + Action + Passion = Success
- Money + Working = A Wage
- Money - Working = Passive Income
- Passive Income + Assets = Financial Freedom
- Creativity = Imagination x Interaction
And, for completeness, my equations
- Ideas + Action = Innovation
- Passion + Talent = Success
- Alternatives + Analysis = Decision
- Focus + Action = Results
- Talent + Training = Strengths (borrowed from Tom Rath)
- Curiosity + Listening = Understanding
- Mistake + Reflection + Action = Growth
- Authority x Resources x Information x Accountability = Empowerment (borrowed from Edmund Lawler)
AND FINALLY, THE WINNER....
I put one slip of paper for each equation into a bowl. That means Richard and Karin each had six slips of paper in the bowl, and everybody else had one. My mother opted out, saying that at 75 she thought she would rather continue coaching me than switch roles. (I'm kidding just a little here).
My wife C. drew the winning slip of paper. Our nine dogs all watched (they thought she was drawing out dog treats) and reluctantly certified the accuracy of the drawing.
So without further ado, I am pleased to announce the winner is at the other end of this link! If you own the site at the other end of this link, drop me a line (kent AT kentblumberg DOT com) and we'll set a time for me to call you.
Thanks everyone for playing along. And congratulations to the winner!
