Shot on Canon EOS 20D, 1/500 second at f/10, ISO 200, 75 mm lens. Normal exposure compensation in Adobe Photoshop CS3, then added an empty layer blended with mulitply at 53 percent opacity to deepen colors.
One of my favorite shots from our six years in New Zealand. Two young male cows on a farm in the upper North Island. Shot with a Hasselblad medium format camera on Fuji's Velvia film. No other technical data retained.
[Is "male cows" an oxymoron? Are cows always female? According to my Websters, yes they always are. So my title is wrong. Tough - that's what I've always called this snap!]
This shot is a composite of a sunset scene over Alligator Bayou, and the portrait of an alligator. I adjusted contrast and brightness on the sunset scene, and then added a second layer, masked and blended using "multiply" in order to deepen sky tones. I cut the eyes and nose of the alligator out of another picture and pasted them into a third layer. Finally, I sharpened the whole works.
